When Spyborgs was announced last night who would have thought the amount of backlash would happen against it. Well apparently Capcom has received quite a bit of it so Corporate Officer/Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development of Capcom Entertainment Inc. Christian Svensson went on to the official Capcom message board to post a message to those who weren’t happy about the game.

Well, this came out of left field. News from the latest issue of Famitsu seems to indicate that Tenchu 4 will be coming to Wii on October 23rd…and only to Wii. And, even more interesting (at least for longtime Tenchu fans) is the news that apparently From Software, the developer of the last few games in the series, will not be developing Tenchu 4. Instead, original developers Acquire will be taking over the series once again.

Which would be great news for Tenchu fans, as From Software’s entries in the series have been seen as fairly weak by many. Regardless, until there is a solid confirmation, this should be considered a rumor for now. But, now that both Monster Hunter and Fatal Frame have jumped to the Wii, nothing would surprise Siliconera.

Preview, a popular comic book magazine, has claimed that a Castlevania game will be released for the Wii in the latter part of 2008.

The magazine mistakenly let slip the information whilst detailing its PR campaign for a comic book based on the PS2 game, Curse of Darkness.

It says the book will be “cross-promoted with 2008 video game releases, which include games for Nintendo Wii and DS (Fall 2008)”.

Rumour hounds in the game industry are notoriously good at sniffing out stories, even with only tiny scraps of information to work on, so the magazine’s apparent goof has led to some serious internet speculation.

A new Castlevania DS game was always on the cards, with screens already released, but a Wii version wasn’t expected by industry experts.

We don’t need to tell you that Konami have made no comment on the matter whatsoever … oh, we just did. Ah well.

Metallica, the veteran thrash metallers, are to get the Guitar Hero treatment in the very near future, according to reports out today.

The title will most likely be in the same vein as the Aerosmith spin off game, GH:M will be released on “multiple consoles” before the end of Activision’s fiscal year (i.e. before March 31st, 2009).

The game was discovered by the eagle-eyed Edward Woo in a company SEC filing by the Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst.

The document said of upcoming releases: “In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms.”

As this is a relative ’scoop’, there are virtually no game details, other than guesses based on the previous Aerosmith-themed Guitar Hero game.

It is likely players will get to experience Metallica’s entire career (though presumably not the bus crash that robbed the band of legendary bassist, Cliff Burton) and selection of celebrated thrash metal anthems like Battery, Dyer’s Eve, One, Enter Sandman and so on.

How many more of these band-specific versions of the Guitar Hero franchise will be released? Your guess is as good as ours…
